Certificate of Appreciation – Ziv Shilon – HELPTSD

We recently had the privilege of hosting Ziv Shilon, who joined a processing session to share his extraordinary personal story:

The year was 2012, during Operation Pillar of Defense. Just one day before completing his role as a company commander in the Givati Brigade, Ziv was critically injured during an operational activity in the Gaza Strip. As he approached to open a gate along the border to allow safe passage for forces, an explosive device was detonated, causing him to lose both of his hands and sustain additional severe injuries.

Despite his critical condition, Ziv continued to function and lead the efforts to extract himself from the scene. His rehabilitation journey included more than 14 surgeries and years of dedicated effort. Through a profound recovery process, he discovered inner strengths he had never known. Ziv returned to physical activity and successfully completed the Ironman competition, becoming one of the only athletes in the world with near-total paralysis in two limbs to complete the race in a competitive category.

During this session, Eitan Feldman, the organization’s Operations Manager, presented Ziv Shilon with a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of his contribution and positive impact. The meeting took place at Ziv’s company, NIMBLE — positioned at the forefront of innovation in the fintech space — offering a remarkable opportunity to witness his growth and progress.

We deeply appreciate his time and contribution, and thank him for his visit and lecture at the processing session, which you can read about here >>

HELPTSD is committed to creating a supportive and empowering environment for injured soldiers and their families throughout the process of physical, emotional, and social rehabilitation. The organization places a strong emphasis on alternative mind-body therapies, individual and group psychological support, and activities designed to help soldiers cope with PTSD.

As part of our activities, we host well-known figures for inspiring and educational lectures. Among our guests have been Udi Kagan, Aviv Geffen, and investigative journalist Yair Eisenberg — each contributing in their own unique way to raising awareness and providing tools for coping.

We will continue to act and bring meaningful and inspiring figures, such as Ilan Maor (who participated in the first processing session in a series held by the same team that later met Ziv Shilon), with the goal of providing new tools and inner strength.

Thank you to everyone who gives of themselves for our soldiers. Thanks to you, the journey toward recovery and empowerment becomes a reality.
