Despite the challenges of war, it is important to remember that growth can emerge from every crisis. In that spirit, Tu BiShvat brought us to Jerusalem, where we met Border Police reservists who had been called up to protect the capital.

These days, many of our volunteers move between their meaningful roles within the organization and reserve duty — and this was exactly the case with Yael Elhanan, a commander in the Jerusalem Border Police District and a social support coordinator in the organization.

With the arrival of the holiday, we reached out to her and created an opportunity to visit and bring some joy to her and her fellow soldiers in uniform. It was cold, as expected during a Jerusalem winter, and we came to warm our heroes with hot sahlep, a coffee station, and of course dried fruits for a true Tu BiShvat celebration. And yes — there was also pizza. Plenty of pizza.

We were grateful for the opportunity to visit, share the organization’s work, and encourage the soldiers to refer anyone in need of support — and to consider volunteering with us themselves once their reserve duty ends, just as Yael has already done, becoming a meaningful part of the organization.

None of this would have been possible without the “Sayeret HaPinkuim” operations team, who joined us and brought along plenty of food and great energy. We extend our thanks to them, and especially to Amit Morano, who leads this remarkable initiative.

Representing the organization at the event were Eitan Feldman, Operations Manager, and Neria Tzabari, a social support coordinator and member of our marketing team.

Special thanks to all our donors:
Pizza Story; the djsdogood organization and its CEO Nir, who came to DJ; Shafa Teva Roastery (Ramat Gan); Shmuels and its owner Omri Shmuelovitz; Moshiko, who came to sing and lift the atmosphere; Artisan Bread; Unico Coffee; and of course all the volunteers of Sayeret HaPinkuim.

To conclude, we also gifted the Border Police reservists a coffee machine — a small gesture to help keep them warm throughout the winter.
