A writing workshop for Armored Corps soldiers at Nova

We recently took part in a unique event for Armored Corps soldiers who are preparing to enter Gaza for the fifth time, as part of a gathering focused on team bonding and renewing their strength. The event included a values-based day that began at the Nova memorial site, featuring a guided tour led by a local instructor. The tour lasted several hours and gave the soldiers an opportunity to talk, reflect, and learn.

After the tour, the soldiers were hosted for lunch, made possible thanks to our partners: Niv, Haimi, and Mika, who prepared fresh food on-site in a designated cooking area.

Later in the day, a writing workshop was held with Adi Segal Weisberger, an occupational therapist and workshop facilitator. The goal of the session was to help process the experiences the soldiers had gone through—both during their deployments and throughout that day—and to guide them toward an optimistic mindset and forward-looking perspective through structured writing exercises. The workshop focused on creative and value-driven aspects, allowing the soldiers to express thoughts and emotions and strengthen their personal resilience.

<span style=”color: #ff9900;”><a style=”color: #ff9900;” href=”http://helptsd.org/פעילות-העמותה/ערב-גיבוש-למשרתי-השריון/”>This marks the second activity the soldiers have participated in with us. In the previous occasion, they joined a preparation day before an earlier deployment, where we also supported them with a meal and a mindfulness workshop (click for more information).

In this current activity, representing the nonprofit as a host, Ravit Golan—a former military observer and volunteer in the individual support program—accompanied the group, assisted throughout the event, and was present to provide support regarding both the event itself and the organization’s services in general.

A big thank you to all the soldiers for allowing us to be part of their day, and to Ravit Golan and our wonderful partners who came to prepare and provide the food. The organization is always available for any soldier in need of support, and you are welcome to leave your details on the website via the contact page to receive assistance.
