While many of us spent the Passover holiday enjoying time with family, taking a break from routine, and embracing the spring atmosphere of Chol HaMoed — there are those in the rehabilitation department at Ichilov Hospital, coping with injuries sustained during their service.
That is exactly where we directed our latest Passover activity: to bring a moment of sweetness to members of the security forces — soldiers, police officers, and combat personnel — who were injured in the line of duty and are now on their long and courageous journey of medical rehabilitation.
Alongside Eitan Feldman (Operations Manager) and Dekel Tzur (CEO), we were joined by Tal Basson — a new volunteer who now leads public relations and community outreach. Tal joined us after years of experience in advertising, account management, and PR, and has already become an integral part of our work.
The activity was made possible thanks to the generous contribution of one of our long-time volunteers, a business owner importing jewelry from the Diamond Exchange, who wished to remain anonymous. He personally purchased kosher-for-Passover chocolate packages — chocolate-coated popcorn — so we could offer them to those in need of encouragement during this time.
Together, we visited the rehabilitation department at Ichilov Hospital, where patients coping with physical and emotional injuries are supported every day on their journey back to themselves, each at their own pace.
This initiative is part of our broader activity, in which volunteers visit different hospital departments to raise morale, offer support, and are themselves strengthened through the experience.
