I am running the Marathon des Sables in the name of Ilai Nachman and Reni Tahan. I recently lost two relatives who were very close to my heart.
Elai was brutally murdered by Hamas at Nova’s love and music festival on the seventh of October 2023.
Rani Tahan, who was a crazy ‘Iron Man’, bravely rejoined the IDF and returned to Gaza to help free the hostages. He was killed four weeks ago, while serving.
Rani suffered from post-trauma. Nevertheless, even as he faced mental hardship, as a husband to a wife and father of four young children, he felt he could not stay behind while others risked their lives in the field to find the abductees.
Elai and Rani celebrated their lives until the end. They valued every second of every day. They had gentle souls and beautiful and sociable personalities. Their smiles lit up every room.
I am raising money for the war survivors and for civilians who suffer from post-trauma because of the war.
Marathon des Sables is a seven-day ultra-marathon covering 250 kilometers across the Moroccan Sahara desert in April 2024.
